Join us for a long weekend retreat in the Lake District - a chance to step out of the pace of everyday life and ease gently into that September shift, feeling a little more grounded.
We'll be based at Thistlewood House - a generous space with room to breathe and slow down. John and Ochre will be leading the yoga, with mornings beginning as they should: slow and unhurried, with movement, breathwork, and a chance to arrive properly into the day. Evenings shift into something softer with yin and restorative yoga to unwind from whatever the day brought.
In between, we'll head out for walks, including a hike up Blencathra with a picnic made fresh by Jamie at the top. There'll be wild swimming for the brave, and plenty of time to do absolutely nothing in the best possible way: a good book, a long card game, a lazy game of badminton, or just sitting outside with a cup of tea. And if the weather has other ideas, the fire will be lit, a film on and the house feeling all the cosier for it.
Jamie is our chef, specialising in pastry, which means homemade bread every morning and desserts worth saving room for. His cooking is thoughtful and seasonal - the kind of food that makes you feel properly looked after.
September has a particular kind of magic - that golden-light, turn-in-the-air feeling that makes you want to savour everything before the year shifts gear. This weekend is an invitation to do exactly that.
